We recently worked on a project where we created custom foam for the participant.

We recently worked on a project where we created custom foam for the participant. The study was about what people do when they are alone in their cars, and we were given access to this person’s car so that we could take pictures of them driving around town.

The first step was to create foam molds of the inside of their car. We did this with a special machine that blows out hot air into the foam mold until it cools down and turns into solid plastic. After the first layer of plastic cooled down, we added another layer on top and repeated this process until all four sides were covered with thick blocks made of hardened plastic.

Next up came taking measurements and making drawings to show exactly how much space each part would take up in our customized version of their car: front seat area (for driver), backseat area (for passengers), trunk/storage compartment, dashboard area including window vents. Once these drawings were complete, it was time for production! We used an industrial-strength glue gun along with some hooks from Home Depot which allowed us to attach everything together without having any visible seams whatsoever – no sewing required here!

In this project, we cut the foam into two different shapes for the participant’s home.

The project began with a conversation between our client and one of our designers. They discussed how the foam would be used in her home, and what she wanted out of it. It was decided that she would need two pieces: one for seating and another to support a baby crib base. The designer sketched up some ideas, which were reviewed by both parties before any measurements were taken.

We cut the foam into two different shapes based on our client’s specifications: one piece is shaped like an oval ring around the entire perimeter of the room, while the other piece wraps around only part of it so as not to interfere with any furniture placement within reach of where babies will sleep (seen below). Both pieces have been cut down from 12″ thick material down to 3″ thick material so they’re easier for us to work with when assembling them together later on!

We didn’t need any extra measurements from the client in this case, but sometimes we do!

Once we got the go-ahead from the client, we measured out and cut out the shape before sending it off for use in the study!

The foam was made to be as thick as four inches and as large as two feet. We did this because we wanted to make sure that no matter how big or small a person’s head is, they would still be comfortable using this product.
